The redhot romance between local news anchor Victoria Dunkle and Kermit the Frog has hit Splitsville, according to insiders.

In possibly one of the biggest sweeps stunts to hit the local TV news, Dunkle confessed her undying love for the frog during a live interview at noon. The frog flew to Asheville immediately after the encounter a couple of weeks ago, and the two have reportedly been gaga over one another since. Rumors flew that the duo were painting the town and had little time for anything but one another. See my earlier posts.

But was it all, in fact, just a stunt? The flameout reportedly started after Kermit’s posse, which included Dunkle, had a run in with a Fraggle Rock crew one party weekend in Miami. Gal pals say Dunkle was shocked at the life K led, a life filled with little more than galavanting from one celeb-filled party to another.

Agents for both Dunkle and K declined to comment.

Guess we’ll have to wait to see what November brings.
