Sounds like a very cool event. Press release here:
The Black Mountain Tailgate Market (BMTM) has offered the best of farm fresh products to the community for over 17 years. In celebration of our vendors and customers the BMTM ends this year’s market season with two great events that promise something for everyone. “This market is a growing, vibrant and really friendly place with amazing food and great sense of community. These two fantastic events highlight everything we have to offer as a market and as a destination for families and lovers of fresh, local food,” says market manager, Joan Engelhardt.
The first event on Thursday October 27, 2011 entitled Pig and a Pint will be hosted from 4 to 7pm on the field at Pisgah Brewing Company located at 150 Eastside Drive, Black Mountain NC. This event features a whole “Pisgah-fed” hog supplied by Foothills Pastured Meats and prepared by chefs from Louise’s Kitchen, a bounty of tastings from BMTM farmers, producers, and local chefs as well as an artisanal pig butchery demonstration by butchers from the newly opened Chop Shop in Asheville. Ticket price is $20.00, kids 12 and under are free. Ticket holders get Pisgah beer samples, roasted pork and a diverse sampling of prepared foods made with locally grown produce from BMTM farmers and producers. Music during the Pig and a Pint courtesy of 2 Swayback Sisters: Laura Blackley & Mary Ellen Bush. Stay late for Dave Desmelik and Friends in the Taproom afterwards at no extra charge. This is a do not miss event for foodies, farm supporters and local food advocates. Ticket sales and silent auction benefit the Black Mountain Tailgate Market. Tickets available at Pisgah Brewing, the Merry Wine Market, Louise’s Kitchen, the Chop Shop and the BMTM by cash or check.
