Our campaign has raised more money from individuals than any of the others, as far as I know. Shuler only had 14 donors in the third quarter, with $10K. We had 227 donors in the quarter, kicking in $16.5K. The rest of Shuler's money is from PACs. I will not accept funds from corporate PACs.
Much of the GOP money is self-financed.
Ours is a grassroots campaign, and we are going to win in May and Nov. 2012.
Sources inside the Biltmore Estate have indicated that Shuler ordered 12 meals Saturday night for his big fundraising dinner. We had over 200 at the Grey Eagle on Sunday.
Shuler had 14 individual donors in the 3rd quarter. We had 227 and outraised him in personal donations. (Check our FEC filings.)
The Republicans are largely self-financed, and they and Shuler accept corporate PAC donations, which we will not.
The fact that Shuler is cast as the anointed candidate is a bit premature, at best.
