A project of LEAF in Schools and Streets. Had a great conversation with loyal reader Jennifer about it last night. A cool event. Details here:

Time
Saturday, October 15 · 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Location
Green’s Mini-Mart
414 Depot St
Asheville, NC
This is an opportunity for local musicians, artists, business owners, residents, and kids to come together to record, share, and preserve their voices or music. ANYONE can come be a part of this MUSIC PROJECT and bring their VOICE or just use the remixing tools and CREATE YOUR OWN TRACK. An MP3 recording will be created by combining voices, music and stories, from everyone in the community into a song for air play on local radio stations and a special presentation at The Lake Eden Arts Festival on October 22nd.
During the event at Green’s Mini-Mart, creative ART experiences will be led by local visual artist Cleaster Cotton and Asheville Parks and Recreation EASEL RIDER mobile art van. Pink Dog Creative Artists, Glen Rock Residents, Flood Gallery Artists, Livingston Residents and other members of the community are invited to come participate in the experience led by LSS resident teaching artist Dave Hamilton and his students from Stephens Lee Recreation Center. Come on down and lay a track – by the tracks!
