Caitlin Byrd, managing editor of UNC Asheville’s college newspaper, the Blue Banner, reported on Twitter last night that there was a search on for a missing UNCA student. Here’s her string of updates, which started around 10 p.m. Friday and went until about 1 a.m. this morning:

*BREAKING NEWS* UNCA student Jordan Earley is MISSING. Asheville fire and rescue are searching for him now.

@fobes Working on trying to get more details about this.

Seeing lots of Facebook status updates from Jordan Earley’s fellow Sigma Nu brothers. Will be talking to his “little” soon.

@sandymaxey He has a Facebook account. I’ll be getting more details soon. Talking to one of his sigma nu brothers in 5.

Correction: Talking to Earley’s “big” soon. Hopefully he can at least tell me how long he’s been missing.

@sandymaxey He may have privacy settings up for just people in his network. I’ll see if he can put up a picture soon.

@ingridnews13 No details on where they are searching at this point . Last time they heard from Jordan it was around 6 p.m. today.

@sandymaxey I still have access to his profile. I think his privacy settings are for his network. I’ll upload a recent picture soon.

Just got off phone w/sigma nu brother: Officially confirmed missing. Last heard from at 6 p.m. via depressing text message.

Contacting Jordan Earley’s sister now for more information about her brother.

Contacted sister and family of missing UNCA student Jordan Earley. Will be receiving a call back from them later.

@barbieangell Thank you so much. I hope they find him soon. His friends and family are very concerned.

Last facebook status update from Earley was “Quadrophenia” at 4:23 a.m. Friday. The same as the song/album by The Who.
