WLOSers said goodbye Sunday night to former beauty queen Candice Little, wishing her well after four years on the pageant beat and dozens of episodes of “Road Rebels.”

Candice will be moving to Charlotte to be with hubby Scott Wickersham, who jumped ship a couple of months ago to work for WSOC. Russ Bowen will take over Candice’s weekend anchor seat. WLOS on its web site is currently listing openings for a news anchor/reporter and a reporter, so we’ll likely see at least one new face at some point.

Ashvegas won’t really miss Candice’s wide forehead, her over-done hair, her glistening redlight lipstick. We won’t miss the traffic reports or the stories about beauty pageants. We do wish Candice all the best. Candice, hon, you’ll look great in your Beamer in the Queen City. We’ll eagerly await any news of an expanding family that you and Scottie might want to pass our way. Hope the kitties are happy, too.

So, what was your favorite Candy Cane moment?

It was great to see a newscast by a woman who had looks and the brains. She was southern born and was part of the people around here. Its not often your local newscaster is a former beauty queen, sort of keeps the news from being so dull!Goodbye Candice and best of luck.

Please, Candice was HOT! So what if she wasn’t exactly Barbara Walters, who cares?

You can rest easy now.. at least you still have Darcell to tell you about the "Baink Robbery"

My favorite moments were every fall when the temperature would fall below 40 and she would describe it as "bone chilling."
    But they all do that.

Anyone else notice how she would always mispronounce words ending in two L’s?

    Thus:

Somebody was arrested and sent to the Buncombe County Jell.

Said person was eventually released on bell.

There was a traffic accident in Spindell.

The Post Office had a delay in delivering the mel.

Several people got flat tires because someone through some nells on the road.

    A ship recently set sell.

The store was having a sell.

    Etc.

My favorite "Candy Cane" moment was the numerous times (about once every couple months) that you would see her and Julie Wunder wear the exact same clothing, even that god awful red lipstick. It made me wonder if Julie was serving a role that Scottie 2 Hottie couldn’t serve for Candy Cane.
