Press release here:

You will have an opportunity to learn how to make bowls, platters, vases, and spindles from wood in a demonstration on February 19 at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway from 10 AM to 4 PM. The demonstration is completely free of charge.

Frank Penta, past president of the Woodturners Guild of North Carolina will be showing fundaments of woodturnning. This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in woodturning to see examples of turnings, the type tools and equipment to use and meet other turners. The demonstration is sponsored by the Carolina Mountain Woodturners Association headquartered in Asheville.

The Carolina Mountain Woodturners is the largest local organization of wood turners in the world with over 300 members whose mission is to teach people the craft and art of woodturning.
