Anti-Valentine’s Day flash mob pillow fight at the Vance Monument in downtown Asheville garnering fans

This is gonna be grand. Here’s the Facebook event page for the anti-Valentine’s Day pillow fight flash mob:

With 1,050 people signed up so far (as yes/maybe), I’m thinkng we might hit 1,500 by valentines day. If a fifth of those people actually show, that’s still ~300 people.

In other words, this is going to be the most gy-normous pillow-fight in Asheville, ever! Mebbe the whole dad-blasted state!

So, in all seriousness, *please* bring something other than a feather pillow, and anyone you invite, ask them as well. Feather pillows shred quite quickly, and can present a real hassle to clean up.

Also, *pretty please* I would love to have mebbe a dozen volunteers for a quick 5 min cleanup afterwards. Mssg me if you are interested in helping out a little . . . things don’t work without people like you!

And, for anyone who doesn’t know, the idea is a ‘flashmob” which means it happens suddenly and without warning.

So, stuff ‘em in your shirts! We’ll all look silly! Whatever!

It will likely be over in ~15 minutes, so be on time if you want to take part.

Afterwards, there has been a few requests to go to a local drinking establishment. I was thinking the Arcade, as it’s the largest close-by bar, and they have games.

Oh and, if its raining on valentines day, check your emails – I may ask we reschedule.

One last thing: On the advice of a friend, because I don’t think it would be a good thing to have too many more folks than have already signed up, I am going at some point to set the FB event invite to ‘private’ – so new outside people can’t see it. But you still can!!

oh dear ones worried about the mess? stay and help with clean up like many have already signed up to do. or go ruin someone else's party.

time = 5:30pm don't be late, it won't last long.

and remember it's a FLASH MOB (look it up), so you pretend like everything is normal until 5:30 when you whip your pillow out from under your coat. the surprise is part of the point.

come and play but if you're not going to play nice, stay home and write peevish comments on someone else's blog
