My dad is at Care Partners and Old School subs is right on the way. I have been there twice now and found the folks there extremely hard-working and friendly. They serve Boar's Head meats. The sandwiches were wonderful and the bread is baked fresh from a local baker. I ordered the fruit salad as a side and it was fresh and had a good variety of fruit (strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe). I will continue to go back there.
Avlguy, Old School is using Carolina Mountain Bakery bread now, give 'em another shot 🙂
We have a coupon on http://www.RelyLocalAsheville.com to save you a little cash in the process.
I ate there once. The owners were nice and the meat was good. But I don't know where they get the mayo. It was the sweetest, nastiest tasting stuff I've ever had. It made the sandwich inedible. The bread was very mediocre too. I made the mistake of ordering the pasta salad as the side. It was macaroni noodles mixed with the same awful mayo. I haven't been back.
The best sandwiches in town is Frank's New York deli. Jersey Mike's is so inconsistent. Their bread is ALWAYS stale. Lenny's isn't too bad. I miss 28806 deli in West Asheville. They had some great sandwich's too.
