More food news in Asheville: Bandido’s opens, Chamelon closes and more

Here’s more food news I’m still catching up on:

Bandido’s Burritos opened in West Asheville in the former Agave Azul location on Haywood Road. Bandido’s used to serve out of a food cart in town.

Chameleon soul food on Merrimon Avenue recently closed.

I had lunch today at Viva Delicatessen on Haywood Road and can report that they’ve got an amazing space, a killer turkey rueben and lots of amazing specialty items, from babka and black-and-whites to all kinds of great deli meats and cheeses. Check ’em.

I ate at Bandidos on Friday in West Asheville. The place was packed full. The staff was swamped but the people who work there are nice and made us feel special. The food took a little longer than I expected but they were slammed so I understood new place and all. The food was incredible. You could tell right away that there was some time put into making this stuff. I loved it can't wait to go back and check the new menu out.
