The syndicated NPR radio show “World Cafe” will devote an hour to the work of Bob Moog, the music pioneer whose synthesizers transformed electronic music, at 6 p.m. on Thursday. WNCW carries the show.

From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

Moog’s daughter, Michelle Moog-Kousa of Asheville, will be featured on the program, airing at at 6 p.m. Thursday. Locally, the show is carried by WNCW-FM/88.7.

Bob Moog, who lived in Asheville until his death five years ago, was the inventor of the groundbreaking Moog music syntheisizer. The device radically changed the way music is performed.

The show will also include a music set recorded in the Lexington Avenue Brewery’s music room during Halloween weekend. That was the weekend that Moogfest, the new three-day music fest, descended upon Asheville. Host David Dye was in town and interviewed the band Mountain Man, a trio of young women who sing beautifully.
