Moogfest 2010 organizers announced yesterday that they were moving all shows scheduled for the former Club 828 in Asheville to the Stella Blue club. From Moogfest’s page on Facebook:

Re: late night shows, Stella Blue’s 21+ policy, etc: Yesterday, we were thrown a curve ball. We were informed that we could not use the 828 Club – after being assured that we could for months. So, we have been working hard to find solutions. We are grateful to Stella Blue for being part of that solution. We hear your… concerns. Please be patient with us: more details soon.

Club 828 closed with no notice about a month ago, and it seemed odd that Moogfest organizers were saying they were still counting on using that space. It would have been great – Club 828 over the past year or so has become known as the real home of the local electronic music scene.

But Stella Blue should be fine, although it’s a relatively small venue.

Moogfest 2010 is happening on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Halloween weekend. The big three venues in Asheville area the Orange Peel, Asheville Civic Center and Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. But there will be shows in venues all over town. Watch for more details as we countdown to the big party.

Moogfest organizers have also responded to rumors that they are overselling the music festival. The rumor: “that y’all oversold tickets and it’s going to be impossible to get into most of the shows. I’ve talked to several people that are considering selling their tickets bc of this. how many tickets have been sold to the fest so far?”

Moogfest’s response:

Thanks for the heads up but this is nonsense. We hope to do Moogfest for many years in the future, which means that we want everyone to have a spectacular experience this year. We have no intention of overselling tickets and will absolutely sell no more than 8000 per day. Period. Please help us to spread the word. Thanks again!
