In typical Asheville style, where-in all things local rule, a group in town has created a homegrown alternative to the massive Moogfest 2010, which is bringing big-time electronica bands to Ashvegas on Halloween weekend. Just like there’s Anti-Bele Chere at Stella’s during Bele Chere, there’s now Roguefest during Moogfest. It’s set for Oct. 29-31. Here’s some info, from their page on Facebook:

RogueFest!!! Your tasty alternative or extra topping to MoogFest on Halloween weekend in Asheville!

Music, art, visuals, performance, and CAMPING!

Massive lineup TBA! (While moogfest takes over the city with their international lineup, this is where you can find the awesome local performers of Asheville who make this lil freakville so cool + special regional guests and possibly some extra surprises!)

Indoor/Outdoor on the river

Walking distance from downtown!

Stay tuned for more details :

Limited camping passes will be available – be ready to jump on that. Definately THE hottest spot for camping during moogfest.

Ever expanding lineup to be updated: Quetzatl, GalaxC Girl, Cleofus, Kri, Medisin, Intrinsic, D:Raf, Naster, Emory, Skew, Super Glitch Bros, Johan Ess

About Wondrous Temple of Boom, from their page on Facebook:

Space crunksters on an intergalactic mission to move your booty and melt your face with some of the illest, dopest, most progressive djs, producers, visual artists, glass blowers, and psychedelic pranksters.

With bases in the temporary autonomous zones that are Transformus and Alchemy as well as infiltration of the material world, the Wondrous Temple of Boom exists solely to wreak blissful devestation upon the masses.

A shout-out to loyal reader Carol for the heads-up. Thank you, Carol!
