One of Asheville’s friendliest Twitter folks, @itswendylou, had a big scare Monday morning when her car hydroplaned on Biltmore Avenue and crashed into a power pole. Nobody was injured in the wreck, and she handled the situation with grace. She also tweeted the episode:

I’m fine & @verybadcat13 is here with me, but I broke the pole in half #ripautobotpassat

My hydroplane incident closed Biltmore from Choctaw to Short Coxe #avlnews

@sandymaxey thankfully I have collision

Feeling exceptionally lucky, not only to be alive, but to have sustained no injuries.

@BlogAsheville thankfully no one else was in the car with me. @verybadcat13 came to the rescue 🙂

@Asheguy i’m okay, a little shaken, but everything is in tact

@fobes no doubt, feeling very lucky no one else was involved

@robthecarguy second time in my life where a Volkswagen & a seatbelt saved my life.

@Asheguy the passat saved my life. He knew I was worth more than a telephone pole 🙂

Can’t say it enough, I feel incredibly lucky.

A huge thank you to the wonderful @AshevilleFD who let us stay dry in their firetruck & Officer Ward of the @AshevillePolice who was so kind
