Whatever happened to the point of having fun? I was in the walk and it was a blast. The non-zombies were having a dang good time too. I am sorry that some people think that the having some fun is pointless. Maybe next year they will know not to come downtown. I am sure that our 1500 zombies will grow.

I feel sorry for you Ev , there are 30 or so retirement communities begging for people like you to come play tether ball and get all hopped up on bingo. It's events like Zombie Walk that make this town what it is and keep it is such a joy to live here and on the other hand it's the people like you that suck the life out of everything the is or may be "fun" but you probably do that everywhere you go. What do i know? Were all just Generation ….Dumb?

My condolences to fun, Ev has officially killed it. 🙂

    Dear ev,
Have you ever heard of Christmas coming early? Why can't people enjoy halloween early the people of Asheville love Halloween and being zombies if you don't see the fun in it it's your loss.

    P.S.
    BRAAAAAAAINS!!!

Oh, Ev. It must be awful having to be that serious all of the time. You have my heartfelt condolences. You know, one of the very first zombie walks in town happened in the Asheville Mall on 'Buy Nothing Day' in '02 or '03. But seeing as I was in the zombie walk yesterday, and as such have been relegated to the ranks of Generation Dumb Plus, I'm most surely unfit to comment on the "meaningfulness" or the "point" of the event. If you plan on having a funeral for your innate sense of fun, do tell. I'll send it a bouquet.

I accidentally ran across the Zombie walk last night in Asheville, NC. It was one of the stupidist things I have witnessed. I found it devoid of any point. It did not even have any historic Halloween spirit in it. I guess that would be too meaningful? How ironic, since the whole point of the original Zombie movies was to make the point that in consumer society, people's lives were becoming devoid of any meaning and that they were dead to the present moment, they were lost in mindless consumption. It was a critique of over consumption and soul less living. That was considered a BAD thing and hence – scary. But of course generation dumb+ is completely ignorant of this interpretation and simply wants to be on display to be gawked at in any way trendy.

I do not mind Asheville being weird, but I draw the line at being stupid.
