Thursday

A Living Museum with George Scheer @ Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center

7-9 pm

A conversation with George Scheer, co-founder and director of Elsewhere, “a living museum and artist residency set in a former thrift store in Greensboro, NC.”

ELIXIR 2017 @ the Grove Arcade

7:30-10:30

Enjoy tastings, food, and of course cocktails as master mixologists and “spirit specialists” vie for fame and glory in this competition-style mix-off.

Asheville Herb Festival @ 570 Brevard Rd

8:30 am Friday to 4 pm Sunday

Celebrate spring at the Asheville Herb Festival, where you can purchase plants, soaps, crafts, medicines, cookbooks, and more. Refreshing herbal tonics and drinks and food available for purchase on site.

20th Annual French Broad River Festival @ Hot Springs

starts at 1:30 pm Friday

This festival, which benefits American Whitewater, includes live music from Cabinet, Keller Williams, Larry Keel, Emma’s Lounge, and others, mountain bike races, rafting, gear expos, auctions, yoga, and family-friendly fun on the river.

Friday

Fireside Collective CD Release Party @ Isis Music Hall

9 pm – 12 am

Horshoes and Hand Grenades join the Fireside Collective to celebrate the release of Life Between the Lines.

ACAB Anti-Cinco de Mayo Benefit with Oskar Malinalli  @ The Lazy Diamond

10 pm – 2 am

A night of music, dance, and awareness hosted by Another Carolina Anarchist Bookfair (ACAB), this event seeks to bring attention to misinterpretations of Cinco de Mayo and the current political and cultural climate in the U.S. surrounding immigration.

SuperHappy Radio Hour @ the Magnetic Theatre

10:30 pm – 12:03 am

Step back in time and wander through history on this edition of Magnetic’s SuperHappy Radio Hour, where some of the funniest folks in town will take to the stage to record a live radio-style show.

Saturday

Walk a Mile // A Benefit for Our VOICE @ Pack Square Park

10 am

Register now for your spot in the walk to raise awareness about sexual violence and support survivors and organizations working to combat rape culture. This event, a benefit for Our VOICE, will be led this year by Grandmaster Barbie Angell! We talked with Barbie about what to expect (take a peek!).

Free Distillery Sneak Peek and Party @ Eda Rhyne Distillery (Featured Event!)

Eda Rhyne Distillery is kicking off their new venture and their Indiegogo campaign with a (child-friendly) celebration! Enjoy delicious free beer from Burial, live music from Coconut Cake, food from El Querubin, and a tour of the space (beside Toy Boat near Biltmore Village). We are so excited about Eda Rhyne!
