CommunityGivingMission

Great idea from Greenlife. “Money raised on 5% Community Giving Day will support the Child Life Program, which provides a coping and wellbeing expert for each and every patient. The program eases the stress and anxiety of hospital treatment by providing activities that support a child and their family’s ability to cope with the hospital experience through play, education and expressive activities”:

Shop on Wednesday, help Mission Children’s Hospital

Each quarter, Greenlife Grocery in Asheville donates 5% of one day’s sales to a local community organization. This January 9th, we will be awarding this honor to MISSION CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL!

As the only children’s hospital in WNC, Mission Children’s Hospital is staffed with pediatric health professionals and physicians specializing in the childhood diseases, disorders and conditions they treat. They are committed to providing clinically excellent, personalized, family-centered care for newborns, infants, children and adolescents, and the families who love them.

Money raised on 5% Community Giving Day will support the Child Life Program, which provides a coping and well being expert for each and every patient. The program eases the stress and anxiety of hospital treatment by providing activities that support a child and their family’s ability to cope with the hospital experience through play, education and expressive activities. These therapy techniques build cooperation and encourage children to get involved in their own care. As a result they help reduce hospital stays and the need to sedate the child patient. Insurance does not cover this program, but every child receives a Child Life Team Member regardless of their ability to pay.

Save your big grocery shopping for this Wednesday at Greenlife and help support this very important local organization!
