Word on the street: New bar coming to former Mike’s Side Pocket

Rumors are swirling about a new bar coming to the former Mike’s Side Pocket location at 375 Haywood Road in West Asheville. Local photographer zen sutherland has been keeping an eye on remodeling work there, and reported via FB that word was the new place would be a bar featuring flavored moonshine.

The bar closed down in June after two men were stabbed to death inside the bar, and a third man died on the street nearby. The brutal killings shocked the West Asheville neighborhood.

We’ll watch for more action.
