Second dog park/bar, Barkalounge, being planned for Asheville

There is a second dog park/bar in the works for Asheville. It will be called Barkalounge, and yes, it will have Barcaloungers. The concept is to have a place where people can come and drink while their dogs socialize. The plan is to have it located in downtown Asheville. A fun twist – the dogs will actually be members, not the humans.

Earlier this week, I posted about Bark, a dog park and bar that is set to open in either downtown, south Asheville or the RAD in the next 6 months. Now I have word that there’s a second dog park/bar coming specifically to downtown Asheville.

This is awesome! I have a mental image of a buncha drunks stomping around in dog shit breaking up dog fights, or trying to get Big Red to stop humping Fi Fi the toy poodle. Seems like any new concept in this town has to have a tie with alcohol. I think I might try my hand at it.

HEY, I’m opening a scotch tape store! All things Scotch tape BABY! Oh, and we’ll have a bar with all local craft beers! Should be a hit.

  I agree 100%. For the safety of the dogs and the people, this is a terrible, terrible concept and it boggles my mind that two different groups of entrepreneurs don’t see that.
