Duncan_and_York_2013The owners of Duncan and York, a new, locally owned general store, had been planning to move in next to Farm Burger on Patton Avenue, but that’s off. Instead, they’re moving into the former Windsor Hotel location that has been under renovation. There are at least two retail spaces on the ground level, and developers have said they want to give one of those spaces to a restaurant.

More on Duncan and York from my earlier post:

Two Asheville area women, Stephanie Duncan and Lindsay York (their maiden names), are planning to open up a new general store in downtown Asheville. Their store, Duncan and York, will be located next to Farm Burger on Patton Avenue, in the location that was home for decades to A Dancer’s Place. The location is close to Pack Square.

In a short phone interview, Duncan described the store as a “modern market” that will highlight locally made, handcrafted gifts and items. They hope to be open in October. Much more to come as these two entrepreneurs get all the details finalized.
