There’s a new film festival in Asheville called Cat Fly Film Fest. Check it out, from the press release:

Cat Fly Film Fest, a celebration of up-and-coming regional filmmakers taking place in Asheville. Experience all three nights with a weekend pass or day passes/5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from March 31 -April 2/ at Habitat Brewing, Amplified Media, Magnetic Theatre on Depot Street in the Asheville River Arts District.

Cat Fly Film Fest is created by and for up-and-coming independent film artists to showcase cinematic work with a focus on Asheville talent.  A group of women named Brittany Jackson, Cat Wityk, Keeley Turner and Madeleine Richardson came together and decided to create an outlet for Ashevillian and Southeast regional filmmakers. Experience all three nights March 31st – April 2nd in Asheville. Weekend passes or single night tickets are available for purchase at www.catflyfilmfest.com.

Our belief is that films have the ability and the responsibility to communicate poignant messages that affect the moral growth and societal direction of humanity as a whole. Filmmakers can shape the future. In this way, film is not only a form of entertainment, but a powerful voice. At the Cat Fly Film Fest, we strive to provide a platform for up and coming film talent with original voices that will deliver transformative messages of an artistically progressive and/or compassionate nature.
