Ashvegas Year in Review 2015: Top baby names in Buncombe County

Hey y’all. It’s that time of year again, when Ashvegas takes some time to look back at the year that was. First up is the year in baby names. A big shout-out to Buncombe County Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger, whose office compiled the list for me. (Scroll to the bottom of this post to download the entire list of all boy and girl baby names in Buncombe County for 2015.)

As you can see from the lists below, for boys, the top five most popular names were: William, Samuel, Jackson, James and David. (No, the top boy baby name in Buncombe was not Samuel Jackson.) William has been tops for three years running. Last year, the top five were William, Samuel, James, Mason and Liam.

For girls in 2015, the top five most popular names were: Olivia, Ava, Emma, Harper and Sophia. Last year, the top five names for girls were Olivia, Isabella, Harper, Ava and Elizabeth. Olivia has also been tops in Buncombe County three years running.
