Here’s a West Asheville-centric edition of the Hot Sheet, featuring tidbits about the new music and event space Ambrose West and much more.:

Ambrose West, a new event space and music venue, is opening in a former church on Haywood Road near Beechum’s Curve. The venue, at 312 Haywood Road, already has a number of music events booked in January onward.

Lo-ki Lounge is the name of a new spot coming together at 402 Haywood Road next to The Admiral. The location was home to a gas station built in 1985 but in recent years was more of a junk car lot. Word on the street is that the new place will be home to a kava bar.

Roanline, an online outdoor apparel company based in Asheville, has been running a pop-up shop at 506 Haywood Road. That’s the El Dorado building now home to DeSoto Lounge and a tattoo parlor. Wonder if it will become permanent…

-Did you miss the first Medieval Market held earlier this year at The Odditorium? Fear not. The next Medieval Market is set for Saturday, March 24.

Purna Yoga 828, a new alignment-based yoga practice, has opened at 697D Haywood Road in West Asheville. Here’s more:

The studio, owned and directed by long-time Asheville resident Letitia Walker, will focus its teaching around the Purna Yoga lineage, which draws on the asana and pranayama of B.K.S. Iyengar but combines it with the meditational components of Sri Aurobindo.

“Although its roots run to the very heart of the history of yoga, Purna itself is relatively new,” explains Walker. “It combines the best of traditional yogic wisdom with a modern understanding of biomechanics to create a system that is truly ‘state of the ancient art.’ I am so excited to share this style with more of Asheville.”

Walker has been teaching Purna Yoga at The Asheville Movement Center in West Asheville, and at One Center (now The Embodiment Center) on Coxe Ave. for over 10 years. She is in the final stages of completing a 2,000 hour training in Bellevue, Washington at the College of Purna Yoga and has also trained extensively in yoga therapeutics.
