local_flavor_avl_party_2014Congrats to Asheville entrepreneurs Ted and Flori Pate, the founders of Local Flavor AVL. Press release here:

Local Flavor AVL partners with ENO and Highland Brewing to Celebrate 100 Asheville members

Local Flavor AVL, a fast-growing free app and website that provides visitors and locals an insider’s view to an authentic Asheville experience, is celebrating a break-through launch the Asheville way: with beer, friends and music.

Dubbed their ‘Local Appreciation Party,’ the party will take place at Highland Brewing Company on Nov. 5th, and will be joined by friends Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) among others.

Local Flavor AVL hit 100 Asheville members, thousands of app downloads, and has expanded into three other cities since launching eight months ago. The only app of its kind in the area, it showcases local businesses, restaurants, services, events, non-profits, artists, and musicians.

ENO, the industry leading hammock provider, is a Local Flavor member in the shop category and is directing app users to their local independent retailers Diamond Brand, Second Gear, Curtis Wright and Frugal Backpacker, all Local Flavor members.

“By being a part of Local Flavor, we’re participating in a joint effort to promote our local business community and our products,” said Natalie DeRatt, ENO Marketing Coordinator. “We love what Local Flavor is doing and we are proud to partner with them.”

Hundreds of thousands of page views since launch indicate Local Flavor is rapidly becoming the “go to” resource for those looking for an authentic Asheville experience. Since the app is fuelled by users looking to be “in the know” about what’s going on and where in Asheville, Local Flavor wants to give back to their loyal fans with their up-and-coming event.

“We could not have asked for a better location to launch this app and website. The business community has been incredibly supportive,” said Flori Pate, Co-Founder and Creative Director. “Asheville is a true ambassador of the ‘support local’ movement, and we’re so excited to be able to give back to our supporters with this fun party.”

The party will be held at Highland Brewing Company on Nov. 5 starting at 5:30pm. Show your downloaded Local Flavor App and enter to win raffle prizes including an ENO hammock and straps. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
