Shuler has primary challenger

U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler has a Democratic primary challenger this year in Aixa Wilson of Asheville. Here’s more:

Aixa Wilson (pronounced A-sha) lives in Shilo. HE is about 39, entered the army reserves in 2000 and served as a ship loader in Kuwaitt. He entered the race because, seeing the way the world is going, he couldn’t face his daughter (about 9 yrs-old) if he didn’t do something positive to change it. He is running as a Democrat because running as an independent didn’t make sense – he didn’t think he could get enough names to get onto the ballot. He has a masters in anthropology(?) and is working on another masters. He wants to develop a long-term plan for the economic development of district 11. He is interested in mental health issues.  He wants to see more graduate-level programs available in the district. He is a political novice and has no staff and no money. Not even voice mail.

The only other person who had contacted him until today was a reporter from Hensersonville.

He plans to put up a website sooon: http://wilson411nc.com
