The Brew Pump, a mini bar featuring eight local beers on tap, is set to open this week inside the CitiStop gas station at 760 Haywood Road in West Asheville. The little bar is just one aspect of a complete remodeling job that puts a clear focus on one thing and one thing only – beer.
The adjacent laundromat at the site has been replaced with more floor space for the convenience store, as well as beer coolers featuring craft beer, a cold beer cave and a backyard beer garden serviced by a window that connects the tap bar with the backyard, complete with picnic tables. (There are plans to offer live music.)
Outside, the old facade has been replaced by purposefully rusted metal, shiny aluminum panels and small boulders that serve as landscaping pieces and car-stops.
It’s a great new addition to the West Asheville bar scene. It sits across the street from the West End Bakery.

Will they be selling ammo and fireworks as well? Then it could be one-stop shopping for me.
I wonder if I can just set the pump and rush inside and slam a beer or two before I get my 15 gallons of gas? I bet I can pound three beers if I try hard!
i will only go if they still have the slush puppy machine and some wood paneling…
Get drunk and gas up your car at the same time. What a concept…..
Best concept EVER!!! I went there last night. The bar wasn’t open yet, but I sat in the parking lot and slammed a few beers.
