Here are two quick updates from Oskar Blues in Brevard. Some cool goings on:

Fixin’ to throw down on some FIDY. The 1st ever North Carolina-brewed Ten FIDY will be released (today, Aug. 29). We’re throwing a massive party for this massive beer. Enter the chili cookoff – have your chili judged by the brewery staff. Winner gets an OB swag bag. No need to include FIDY in the recipe but make sure it’s FIDY-inspired. Bring enough to share. this mountain will bring the music. We’ll bring the FIDY. We’ll have NC FIDY, CO FIDY, and barrel-aged FIDY on tap. 4-8 p.m.

And this:

We wanted to let you know about a fun collaboration happening in nearby Brevard: Oskar Blues Brewery is brewing two beers with NC-based cult coffee roaster Counter Culture Coffee. Their Old Chub Scotch Ale will be paired with Biloya coffee, and Mama’s Little Yellow Pilsner will be brewed with Idido coffee. At their Asheville Training Center’s (77 Broadway) weekly 10am coffee cupping (tasting) on Sept. 20th, Counter Culture will offer a $5 coupon for lunch, that day only, at Clingman Café – where both Oskar Blues beer and Counter Culture Coffee are served. Later that day, at 3:30pm, the public is invited to meet at the Oskar Blues Brewery (342 Mountain Industrial Drive) for a 4pm brewery tour. At 5pm, participants will have the opportunity to tap the special collaboration beers and take home an Oskar Blues Brewery pint glass with purchase.
