Jason Schutz is planning to open One World Brewing by next spring in the basement of the historic Leader Building at 10 Patton Ave. That’s the same building where Farm Burger plans to open a restaurant at street level.
Shutz says he plans to have a barrel-and-a-half capacity. He said his electric system, which he hopes will eventually be powered solely by solar power, will allow for consistency in making beer.
The goal is to allow the community to buy into the brewery by paying a monthly fee, which will get them cheaper pints in the tap room and a growler a week of brew. Schutz said some of his beer will be available at Farm Burger.
Shutz also wants to use his space to highlight the talent of the local home brewing community. “I figure some of them might want to come in and brew a barrel. If it’s worthy, we’ll put it on tap and share the proceeds so the home brewers can get a little more exposure,” he said.
