Asheville Scene: Work gets underway on new Farm Burger in downtown

Mackensy Lunsford at Asheville Scene gives us the big Farm Burger update:

George Frangos was in town today surveying construction on the Leader Building on Patton Avenue for the newest location of his Farm Burger restaurant. Farm Burger’s menu focuses heavily on grass-fed beef burgers. Frangos and his business partners have two other such restaurants in Atlanta, with another under construction, and they’ve been looking to open an Asheville location for the past year and a half. “We’re happy with what we finally ended up with,” Frangos said. “Asheville is very near and dear to our hearts.”

Most of the materials in the new restaurant are reclaimed materials, including the floors and bar. An indoor bocci court is also under construction next to the bar for “a little bit of fun in the colder, rainier, snowy nights,” Frangos said. “We were just trying to think of something a little different … it’s a good place to hang out and grab a beer with friends.”
