Word on the street: Southern Living profiling West Asheville

West Asheville, you know you’ve come a long way from Worst Asheville when Southern Living comes calling. And that’s the word on the street: the mag will be in around West Asheville on Sept. 13 for photos and such. Specifically, my folks at the funky bar-in-a-gas-station Brew Pump on Haywood Road are telling me the magazine folks plan to drop by. That’s perfect timing – the Brew Pump will be hosting a pint night and will have music and a food truck on hand.

Southern Living has been showing Asheville some love lately. Most recently, if featured a beautiful photo spread of actress Bellamy Young, who grew up in Asheville. Young is a star on the hit show Scandal. Check it out here.
