WNC Alliance hosts Wild & Scenic Film Festival April 15 at Asheville Community Theatre

Press release here:

ASHEVILLE – WNCA is hosting its third annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival from 6-9 p.m. April 15 at the Asheville Community Theatre. (Buy tickets here.)

At Wild & Scenic, you’ll see environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, you’ll learn about the state of the world and be inspired to take action.

Tickets are $6 for students and $10 for general admission. We also have a $25 special price that includes a film festival ticket and a one-year membership to the Western North Carolina Alliance.

This year, WNCA is also offering a VIP Special Access Pre-Festival Party. Join us from 5-6:30 p.m., on the night of the festival at Tressa’s Downtown Jazz & Blues for hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and a meet-and-greet with Jeremy Monroe, director of the non-profit organization Freshwaters Illustrated in Eugene, Ore.

Monroe will present two new films at the VIP party and will share background and insights about filming fresh waters in Western North Carolina, as well as the threats our fish and waters face.

VIP tickets ($40/WNCA members; $55 for non-members) include this special event, as well as reserved seating at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival. VIP tickets are extremely limited and will sell out quickly.

WNCA’s Wild & Scenic 2014 is sponsored by Krull & Company, Roots Hummus and Asheville on Bikes. Tickets can be bought online here.
