Willie Nelson , who’s coming to the end of yet another busy year on the road, has extended his in-progress tour behind “American Classic” through January.

Nelson unveiled “American Classic,” his first solo effort for the Blue Note label, in August. The 12-track set, which peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, includes his backing band–Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Joe Sample (piano), Christian McBride (bass) and Lewis Nash (drums)–and features guest vocalists Diana Krall (“If I Had You”) and Norah Jones (“Baby It’s Cold Outside”).

“American Classic” marks the singer’s first collection of American standards since his 1978 release, “Stardust.” That record was ranked No. 257 on Rolling Stone’s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
