Yup, that’s me, circa 1991, inside the lovely paneled offices of The Daily Advance newspaper in Elizabeth City, N.C. This was my second newspaper job, and I had the cutting-edge tools of the trade at the time: dictionary, phone, green-screen computer. Not to mention the awesome glasses and mustache.
There you have it: I am a dork, and I’ve got the photographic evidence to prove it.

Great Caesars Ghost!
Awesome. Just awesome.
This is awesome.
I think you look very handsome!
Don’t worry about the decor of the office ASH…….most newspaper, radio and television offices I’ve worked in or visited left a lot to be desired in terms of tasteful decorating. At least you were churning out good work there, man.
Nice ‘stache
Awwwww, doesn’t it just make you nostalgic for the good ol days? Did the wood paneling smell like Pledge?
Dude, you look like Goose from Top Gun. You can be my Wing Man any day…
that would be Brooke Shields on the bulletin board.
photo of me now (me and my nieces, shot in August):

I can’t quite place the 80’s babe on your board in the background? The chick from Chilli Pepper’s Mother’s Milk?
hey you have a "now" photo for comparison? i mean so we can see how much more of a dork you are now then you were 18 years ago?
and who is that hot babe on the bulletin board behind you? This is a truly amazing piece of photo documentary.
could you play Pong on that thing?
And with the pin-up girl, too! "Your ad here"?? ~kp
Not tryin to hate.. but that’s an excellent Ned Flanders costume you have there.
Hi, diddely-ho!
With much love,

You might be a dork but at least you got hair.
Wow, that may be even worse than the high school pictures. Maybe I am just overwhelmed by the paneling in this picture. Good thing we are both so much cooler now!
