Video: Asheville folk band River Whyless, “Pigeon Feathers”

Share

See why this local band is attracting attention from Daytrotter and Hype Machine, and opening for Ben Sollee.  Fans of Kovacs and the Polar Bear, Fleet Foxes and Uncle Mountain should give a listen.

Formerly known as Do It to Julia, River Whyless (formerly of Boone) now hails from Asheville.

River Whyless (formerly Do it to Julia) is now based out of Asheville, North Carolina and has quickly become known throughout the southeast for their fresh sound and the energy of their live show. With a graduate of Appalachian State’s School of Music and a classically trained violinist, River Whyless combines technical skill with the creative gifts of the band’s co-songwriters Ryan O’Keefe and Halli Anderson to produce an unclassifiable sound.

Members
Ryan O’Keefe: vocals, guitar
Halli Anderson: vocals, violin
Alex McWalters: drums
Matt Rossino: Bass
