Under construction: Pisgah Community Bank on Hendersonville Road

Share

Lots of banks apparently still have lots of money to spend. Pisgah Community Bank is building this monstrosity on Hendersonville Road, where the quaint old Forest Hills motor lodge used to be. I shot this out my car window.

Do we really need another bank around town? They’re everywhere, and all they do is make money off my money. I must say that, at times, I really dislike banks.

Bank with a credit union; mine, Champion, sends out rebate checks at the end of year for paying your loans on time (auto, personal, and mortgage).

Ditto churches, but at least banks pay property taxes.

People tend to forget that each bank actually COSTS the city money … infrastructure has to go in, but no sales taxes come out.

Quite telling that the most enduring and prevalent buildings in our local landscape are always banks and churches.
