I ventured out to Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro with friends, where we enjoyed a great meal! We shared the duck nachos and gator legs (you read that right), and I got the swordfish belly as my entree. I left stuffed! Great atmosphere, friendly service, creative menu, indoor and outdoor seating, located at the top of the South Slope. Thanks, Storm!

I got some excellent wings and very decadent, bacon wrapped “moink balls” from the Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ food truck, permanently located on the south slope.

Y’all. Rick brought me a box of HELLA GOOD pastries from Whisk Avl! A delicious scone, a scrumptious muffin, a yummy “magic bar,” and the mother of all cinnamon rolls! ? Thanks, Rick! Thanks, Whisk! ❤️

[ This cinnamon roll looked a lot prettier before I wrapped it in foil to reheat it. Some of the frosting got, like, stuck to the foil. Just thought you should know. ]

Y’all, this week’s episode of the Food Fans Podcast was a ton o’ fun to do! My regular co-hosts, Rick and Luis, couldn’t be on, so our producer Davyne Dial stepped in to fill the vacancy! We’ve know each other for years, and she’s one of my favorite people ever, so we had a blast talking about food, food, and more food. As well as Pokemon, Art, and the nature of work. And the ketchup shortage… it’s real. Tune in to listen / watch if you have time!

I took a walk to the CREAM WORKS food truck today at the bottom of the south slope and got an epic hot dog! It was called the “big daddy” and they weren’t kidding! It was nearly as long as my forearm, and had ehhhhhverything on it. It was bangin’! I’m excited to try the ice cream next time. What a great addition to our neighborhood!

Jennie, (the boss at Kickbackavl ) and I went out on a reconnaissance lunch to Nick’s Grill for some pita wraps. Good stuff from way out there on Merrimon Ave! We wanna add them to our deliver roster. PS – I’m super full now.

[ Don’t sleep on that Nick’s Sauce! It was great! ]
