It’s been a couple of months since the last postponement of the trial for the so-called Asheville 11, the group of people arrested and charged in connection with a vandalism spree in downtown in May 2010. As I recall, the trial was put off in part because of an investigation into other questions about evidence missing from the Asheville Police Department’s property room. There’s an audit underway of the property room. Time to check back in on this.

alissa batzold was a close friend of mine and I saw her a month after they were arrested and haven’t heard from her since and was curious to know if hers were dropped or not. any info would be greatly appreciated, when she told what had happened I couldn’t believe it, shes mouthy but not violent in anyway.
Peter, I was/hopefully still am also close friends with Alissa. I haven’t heard from hersince just after the arrest either. I was hoping someone would have found a way to contact her, as I have been unsuccessful. I miss her. Wish I would’ve stumbled across this page sooner!

Peter, back in January, 8 people saw charges dropped; 3 pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges.

Peter, no.

As far as I know the case is still pending, though a new trial date has not been set.
So far nothing. The DA hasn't chosen a new court date yet.
