Pulp opens inside The Orange Peel

Share

Pulp, the private club in the basement of The Orange Peel, opened Wednesday night. I have yet to see the 100-seat joint, and I’m wondering whether or not the idea will work. I’m not sure how the membership levels work, and you make a reservation when you want to attend. If you want to attend an Orange Peel show and hang at Pulp for a bit, the show tickets are separate. Can anyone how it all works, and what the benefits/drawbacks are?

Here’s the press release, which touts their big-screen televisions:

“PULP’s first night of regular hours will be this Wednesday, February 24th, starting at 7pm! Join us for a night of Olympic Ice Hockey (the quarterfinals will be shown on PULP’s high-def big-screen) at 7pm and UNC basketball at 9:00pm (the Tarheels take on FSU Seminoles). We’ll check the scores on other NCAA games as well, don’t worry.

We’ll be serving FREE pizza from Asheville Pizza Company from 8pm to 10pm (or while it lasts!) plus free wings!

Drink specials all night long will include $2.00 PBR drafts, plus $5 “Designated Driver” Specials – which means a bottle of PRB and a shot of your choice of well liquor (cuz after one order, you’re going to need your DD!). Our very own Jeff Santiago will be pouring tasty libations all evening long, so make sure to come hang out! ALL members, regardless of level, will be able to bring a guest, and of course new memberships will be available.

i don’t know how pulp works, and i’m not really interested in paying for entry to exclusive VIP areas of clubs, but the UNC-FSU game was on at 7, not 9.
