The Manifest Obama video that I posted here last night has suddenly disappeared from YouTube.
The video was created by Lauren Rosenfeld, a Rainbow Mountain charter school teacher, her husband Jamie, and their friend Patrick Scully. The music was by Asheville musician Billy Jonas.
The video was a viral sensation here in Asheville, garnering thousands of hits. Then I noticed that the right-wingers were beginning to pick up on it, and decrying it as a video with cultish, New Age overtones. Loyal reader Deborah said radio blabbermouth Glenn Beck was ranting about it this morning.
I posed the question here, and invited readers to respond: Is it a cultish depiction of New Age ideals, or inspired heartfelt hopefulness. ((Note: This last link was to http://ManifestObama.com, but that Web site, which was working Tuesday night, has now been taken down.))
What’s going on? Why did the video disappear? Will it be re-posted?
