Press release here:
Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville will host local employers and job seekers for Career Fest on Tuesday, March 22, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The Center, located in the same building as the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce at 36 Montford Ave., offers master’s-degree programs that serve 225 students. The general public is invited to Career Fest and they, along with LR’s students, will have an opportunity to mingle with local businesses during the free event.
“The sustainability and growth of the local economy are important to us, as are our students’ futures,” said Michael Dempsey, dean and director of LR’s Asheville Center. “Career Fest is designed to serve all of these things – our goal is to introduce highly educated applicants to local companies that are searching for exceptional talent.”
According to Dempsey, 45 businesses are currently registered for Career Fest, including Mission Health, Pardee Hospital, A-B Tech Community College, Asheville and Buncombe County Schools, the City of Asheville, and the YMCA of Western North Carolina. A full list of participating businesses can be found here: http://asheville.lr.edu/node/446. In addition, LR faculty members will be on hand to discuss the university’s master’s-degree programs.
