Election prediction report card

Well, it’s early Wednesday morning and we’re still digesting all the election results. But let’s run down the Ashvegas picks and see how we did.

Not too well.

Ashvegas blew it on the two biggies. Ashvegas officially predicted that U.S. Rep. Charles Taylor would retain his seat. We also predicted Sheriff Bobby Medford would win again.

Ashvegas missed both of those races, arguably the two toughest to pick. Democrat Heath Shuler won decisively over Taylor in the 11th Congressional District, and Democrat Van Duncan slammed Medford.

Ashvegas scored correctly on the other eight races we predicted, but nobody will give us much credit for that.

We’ll be poring over election results and trying to figure out what all this means. But there’s the scorecard.
