Filmmakers working on the made-for-television remake of Dirty Dancing arrived in downtown Asheville on Wednesday morning with a giant green screen, several hot rods and a passel of extras.

The film crew set up on the Interstate 240-facing side of the Four Points hotel on Woodfin Street on Wednesday morning. They draped a giant green screen against the hotel as crew members manning cranes and dollies worked away. Most of the shots appeared to include extras and classic cars from the 1950s and ’60s.

None of Dirty Dancing remake’s stars were spotted Wednesday. The remake stars Abigail Breslin as Baby and Colt Prattes as Johnny. Other stars include Sarah Hyland, Debra Messing and Billy Dee Williams.

Another big star, pop singer Jennifer Lopez, has been spotted at the Grove Park Inn and in Hendersonville, hanging with her partner Casper Smart, who has been working on Dirty Dancing choreography.

The big stars have been filming for weeks around Western North Carolina, including the High Hampton Inn in Cashiers. Those stars have mostly finished their work in the area, according to their social media posts.
