Clemson rapes Duke: ‘It was 40 minutes of them dominating’

The result is so shocking that I still can’t get over it. Clemson, 74 to Duke’s 47. That was the final score in Wednesday night’s basketball game at Littlejohn Coliseum. 

The score in and of itself is pretty unbelievable. Duke only scored a total of 47 points? They usually near that point at half-time.

But it was the fashion in which Clemson came to that final tally. Clemson beat Duke like Obama nominees beat paying their taxes. Duke was colder than my heine walking to work this morning. 

I have to keep writing it so I can believe it. Clemson dominated Duke. Clemson outplayed Duke. Coach K, in the post-game press conference, said “It was 40 minutes of them dominating.” Clemson kicked Duke’s ass. 

It was classic Coach K doing the one thing I admire about him — not making excuses. Coach K also did another interesting thing — near the end of the game, he called a timeout and just stood there with his team and made them listen to the chanting, cheering, screaming, roaring redneck Clemson nation.

Just to be sure the loss sunk in.

I hate Clemson. But I hate Duke more, and I always pull for Clemson when the two play. Today, Clemson fans walk tall and proud. You made a statement that won’t be forgotten.
