Brace yourselves, Asheville: Possibility of all-time record heat coming our way this weekend

Share

According to WLOS assistant news director Bryan Luhn, the highest temperature ever recorded in Asheville is 100 degrees, on August 21, 1983. Friday-Sunday are shaping up to approach this record with some of the hottest temperatures Asheville’s seen in years if not decades.

There’s a chance we could approach, tie, or even top that record this holiday weekend. Stay hydrated, use caution when exerting yourself outdoors, and pay special care to sensitive plants and outdoor pets.
