Community, family, and friends are invited and encouraged to come out and celebrate the arrival home of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans from a day-long visit of memorials in Washington, D.C. Established in 2006, Blue Ridge Honor Flight’s mission is to transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit  memorials dedicated to honor the sacrifices of themselves and their comrades.

If you’ve never been to one of these celebrations, it’s a truly special event. The arrival home is an emotional event for the veterans and for the community members who come out to support them. Check it out if you can.
