Bark, a new dog park/bar, is coming to Asheville in early 2014

Word on the street is that a new bar and dog park is set to open in Asheville early next year. Bark will be located in either downtown, south Asheville or the River Arts District. What will set this place apart is that it will give people a chance to hang with their dogs, or drop them off, between the hours of roughly 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., when most doggie day cares are closed.

Pet owners will have the ability to board their animals if they like. There will be a daily drop off fee, and pet owners will also have the ability to buy a monthly pass.

I hear that the name of the bar inside Bark will be called “Luke’s Lounge.”

Bark should be open sometime in the next six months. More as I get it.

I hope these people have talked to their insurance company and other local bars that allow dogs before putting money into this idea.. it sounds like a VERY bad idea to me, a 12 year veteran of the pet industry.
