Ashvegas on 880 the Revolution

In case you missed it, I was on Local Edge Radio over on 880 AM The Revolution, with talk hosts Blake and Lesley, who are probably still recovering from the big Clear Channel Christmas Party on Saturday night.

It was a fun show. The great Woody Wood was the musical guest of the day, and he played two wonderful tunes. And the owners of Sante wine bar stopped by to talk about some of the special things they’re doing for the holiday season.

Another cool thing Blake and Lesley are doing on their show: it’s something they’re calling the Buncombe County Bailout. They are asking local businesses and non-profits to call up on Saturday’s between 1 and 3 p.m. to talk about what they’ve got going on for a little free advertising. I really like that idea, and I think I’ll steal it.

Want to get word out about your local business and why it’s great this holiday season? Email Ashvegas at sweetashvegas@hotmail.com, and I’ll give you a shout-out. I’ll call it the Great Ashvegas CARP Fishing Expedition. Because there’s nothing that says “shitty economy” like a giant, bottom-feeding fish.

CARP will stand for the “Crappy Assets Relief Program,” named after Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson’s TARP, or “Troubled Assets Relief Program,” i.e. “bailout.”

I think all local bloggers should take on the CARP program. I’ll work on a logo.

Thanks for the plug!

I’ll be checking the comments on this post all week to gather ideas for this Saturday’s show. The call in # is 828-252-4348 and we will devote almost the entire show next week to the Buncombe County Bailout.

And thanks to the magic of B-12, I was able to recover from the holiday party in record time!!

all the constance boutiques are having a holiday sale…

everything is at least 20% off and there are lots of holiday dresses, bags and boots marked 40-50% off.

constance signature candles are now in stock… these will make wonderful holiday gifts!

three locations… context downtown on haywood street, constance in the shops @ overlook on long shoals and constance boutique in biltmore station

p/s… constance long shoal’s location is still open through mid-january and full of gorgeous items!

Cute idea. I listened to part of the show, but I didn’t realize I could call in. Blake and Lesley need to let listeners know the deal more consistently. I could’ve pimped a number of local businesses.
