Announcement expected this week on location of Curate’s new venture in downtown Asheville

An announcement is expected this week on the location of Curate’s new venture in downtown Asheville. Owners of the popular and successful tapas restaurant confirmed back in April that they were exploring options for a second bar/restaurant. Here’s what I said at the time:

That’s big news for a restaurant that has only been open in Asheville since March 2011. Since then, Chef Katie Button, her husband Felix and her mom, Liz, have been raking in the kudos. Button is a James Beard nominee again this year, her cooking is regularly receiving praise from foodies near and far and folks can’t seem to get enough.

Can’t wait to hear details.

A little more background on Katie Button.

I have worked there and I have to say that I have been treated with nothing but respect and encouragement in my experience with them. I did not experience any arrogance or “stuck-up” attitude, even though I’ve heard that rumor before I met them. It’s a great place to work, with an outstanding, friendly staff, and I look forward to seeing what the next place is like.

Sweet! Shorter lines for the rest of us when we want wide-regarded world class food.

Good, it will be (slightly) easier to get a reservation.
