Word on the street: Neo Burrito considers new Woodfin location

Share

Word on the street is that Asheville’s Neo Burrito is looking hard at opening up a new location in the Reynolds Village development in Woodfin. The company has restaurants in Biltmore Village (Neo Cantina) and in a shopping center off Patton Avenue.

If you haven’t been out there yet, Reynolds Village is similar to Biltmore Park: it’s a mix of residential living space (apartments) atop office and retail space. There’s still a lot of retail and office space to be leased, but it’s slowly coming together. Livi’s Pantry just opened there, for example.

Looking for an apartment? Check out the Lofts at Reynolds Village.

More as we get it.

We live north around beaver lake and we love Neo! I hope it is true. North Asheville is a great neighborhood with a demographic that supports great food and quality development. We do need more good restaurants and Neo would be a much welcome addition. I have driven through the Reynolds Village a few times and the place looks really cool. I’m sure the economy has slowed them like it has everyone, but my compliments to them for building such a nice new place. I wish them success and I’m sure local talent like Neo will help.

I think some people questioned the Biltmore Park location, but it always looks busy when I go in or by.

Wicked awesome. I am also somewhat dubious about how well it will work out in Reynolds Village, but the more places that go in there, the better the chance for success. It’s the brand new places that I worry about – not so much the established places like Neo.

Neo will drive traffic for sure.

I put the chances of any sort of respectable retail business succeeding in Reynolds Village at around 1%.

Reynolds Village is home to a successful branch of the YMCA, CarePartners, AvL Technologies (international in its scope), a 200 unit apartment community (almost fully leased), one of the top rated B & B’s in the world and a growing number of well-planned local businesses. Neo would be a big hit here. Can’t wait!

This is a good point – AVL Tech alone could probably support Neo while the center gets more full.

Reynolds village is like biltmore park….I don’t know about that….it’s a poorly planned mixed use project in woodfin with no movie theatres and no quality retail. The developer has been very aggressive in their marketing efforts yielding local businesses that don’t have the stay power to survive the lack of population and income found in the woodfin demographic. Many of the people living on reynold mtn are seasonal and cannot be counted on for regular business. Neo has the stay power but will their revenue meet expectations?? It would be nice to see Reynolds village succeed but that’s highly unlikely as the demographics just aren’t there and the benchmark comparison Biltmore Park has fallen way short in expectations. Just ask the local business owners located there if they’d rather be located elsewhere given the high rent and lack of business….why are they erecting another massive sign on i26 if things were so great…good luck to anyone brave enough to venture into woodfin.

Weaverville/Woodfin needs a good movie theater to help with the N.Avl business.

Well, for those of us who happen to live RIGHT BY THERE, it’s a big boon. I still miss the Food Lion and cheap Chinese. It’s been barren for quite awhile. I look forward to embracing Neo and trying out whoever else moves in.

Neo has two current restaurants. The one on Patton and the one down here in Biltmore Park. The one on Merrimon is still Urban Burrito. I believe they are no longer a part of The Cantina, since everything I can find has dropped the Neo from the name (on facebook, their website http://www.cantinabiltmore.com/, etc). Reynolds Village would fit for them.
