The Cellular Center hosted Fed Cup tennis for the first time earlier this year. The event featured tennis superstars Venus Williams, and her sister Serena Williams, who played singles and doubles matches in Asheville against team Netherlands players.
Tickets sold out for the two-day event. The center’s capacity is about 5,000 spectators for each day. Sports and tourism officials estimated the event had a $3.5 million economic impact, the same impact they’re touting for the 2019 event.
2019 Fed Cup players for Team USA and Australia will be announced about 10 days before the event.

I have Serena Williams on my bucket list. I have never seen her play live. I bought a ticket a few years ago to the family circle in Charleston SC and she lost in the first round. So I still had to go because I had my ticket. I love Serena and Venus Williams and it would make me very happy to mark them off of my bucket list.
